Fall Ball week 4

Tyler played 5 positions today. He caught a couple of fly balls when playing right and left field. He also played second and third base with  good fielding in those positions. He also pitched an inning.

Tyler came in to score one of the runs in the second game. They played Sioux City East today and lost both games 5-9 and 4-5. Their record is 4-4.

Tailgating

The theme for tonight's football game in Spencer: NEON! Tyler packed the car up with all the tailgating essential: a grill, hotdogs n chips and was off. With Steve gone on a motorcycle trip with Grampa in Nebraska, I am home alone...and it feels good and relaxing;)

Bike Night

Tonight we went on our last bike night to Bronson. We got to ride on the Triumph and mom n dad took Dennis' Harley. Isn't there a law against that once you're a Triumph owner;)

Week 3 Fall Ball

They played Kingsley Pierson, Woodbury Central today. They beat them both games by 10 run rule.
Tyler pitched the first 2 innings. He had 5 strikeouts and 1 squeeze play.  Afterwards he played second base the rest of the day.
Tyler got a lot of practice today running the bases. He had so much extra energy. It must've been from the great breakfast that grandma made him and Aaron this morning after they spent the night there last night. How did she not hear them come home, when she could hear a pin drop when I came home 2 minutes after curfew;)

Fun, Family, and Friends

After hitting up farmer's market this morning we watched Drew play 4th grade padded football.  He plays on the line and does an excellent job of sacking the QB and pancakes.
After the game we went to Grandpa and Grandmas to meet Tyler and his friend, Aaron there. We all enjoyed the steak dinner they made us last weekend that Tyler thought we should do it again. Great idea!

Hick Night

Tonight for the volleyball game the "hick" theme continued. Tyler turned it up a notch with this ensemble. He's pictured with Jake and Alex.

Hick Day

This week is Homecoming week at LCHS. Which means we are putting together costumes all week. Yesterday we started it off with having Tyler's Senior pictures taken by a close family friend, Curt Strathman. It was a fun experience for me to be included in the process with Tyler. I can't wait to see the proofs and share them with all of you.

Fall Ball...

...And it felt like fall today.

Tyler started the day playing second base, went to short stop, and finished at pitcher. He had a great run down squeeze play and a perfect throw to first for 2 outs. As pitcher in the last inning he had 3 strike outs. They played the Teal team which consisted of kids mostly from Sioux City North. They lost the first game 1-2 and won the second game 3-2.

Late night get together

After the game we met up with friends in Remsen. I felt like a teenager again going out at 1030pm;)

ISU vs Iowa

Mom n Dad had us over for supper and to watch the big game.
The only way to watch that game was with a big steak dinner, all the sides, and a glass of skittles. Thanks for the feast!

Friends and Football

Tonight we tailgated with the Becker's. Aaron graduated with Steve from high school and his family lives in Sargent Bluff now. He is such a close good friend of Steve's. Aaron is where Tyler's middle name comes from. Before the football game they invited us over for supper and drinks. We had a great time catching up with them. As hard as it was for them to believe that Tyler is a senior it was just as hard for us to see their daughter, Michelle, a sixth grader.
The goofy picture. According to Tyler's apparel for the game tonight the theme was: beach. The kids completed the theme with a classmates pickup truck lined with plastic and filled it with water for a redneck pool.

Motorcycle Mania!

This morning Steve followed Dad to the DMV so Steve could take his motorcycle driving test.
Just your size Dad;) you're just missing a kid in the back and a kid on the gas tank.
Steve passed! He can now drive all by himself. All he needs now it a bike. And "NO" he won't be building one from Clay's shop. We actually want to have one and be able to drive it this millennium;)

Fall League

Today the team played Akron Westfield. They lost the first game 1-3 and won the second game 3-1. Tyler started the game pitching, played second base and even got an inning in at left field.
Tyler had a good day hitting. He had an RBI and even scored himself on a Pete Rose dive at home.
It was also great to have grandpa and grandma there with us to cheer the team on. It made it extra special because today was Grandparents Day.

Knight Rider

With Tyler in Sioux City at a football game with friends, mom n dad came up and we went on a motorcycle ride. We rode to Carnes and ate at our favorite place, Sfumato's. It was mom n dads first time eating there and they loved it just as much as we do. Although, dad didn't care for the arugula on the pizza he did enjoy the gelato afterwards. By time we came home it was dark out. Our first night ride:)

More cousin time Sunday morning

Everlee was very busy this morning checking out cousin Tyler. We had a fun morning celebrating Uncle Rich and Aunt Andreas 12th wedding anniversary with them.
