After 4 practices it was finally the day they've been waiting for. LCHS Dance Exhibition Day!

Tyler and Katie did a great job! It was so much fun to see Tyler doing something fun and enjoy himself. As you can tell by the smiles they had a great time. Tyler's flexibility on the other hand...  

Our "beeting" hearts

I've been attempting to cook more GF foods for our family and this one takes the cake. It is a delicious chocolate cake in a mug and it's made with two cups of puréed beets! I gave mom n dad a cup to share before their big date night. 

Last regular season away game...

...we traveled the short distance down highway 75 to Sioux City West to take on the Wolverines. The Bulldogs won 63-44. Tyler had a 3 from his sweet spot right before the half.

Date night

Tonight before Tyler's game we went out to eat with our best man and matron of honor (aka mom n dad) for our first valentines day as husband and wife. 

Happy Valentine's Day!

First thing this morning a client and his wife gave me a card and gift certificate to my favorite coffee house in Lemars. They are an adorable couple that has been married for 60+ years. My mother always made this day special for us kids when we were younger and I've continued that tradition with my own family. I know they say the greeting card industry made up this holiday but to me I like it. What a perfect idea to show those special to you how important they are than to celebrate that  love with a card, flowers, candy, or even a camper;). 

Last conference game

Tonight the team traveled to Spirit Lake for their last conference game. They beat the Indians 62-45.

It was also my 39th birthday. I had a terrific day! It was filled with many birthday wishes from family and friends. I am so grateful for all that I have. I couldn't ask for more...maybe except for one more cupcake mom made;)

Birthday Drinks

After the game we stopped at one of our favorite bars, Jake's in Aurelia. Another night of celebrating birthday month. We also found out they smoke racks of ribs and serve it with all your favorite sides. We now know where our first bike trip will be with mom n dad;) 

Last game in his old gym

Coach put Tyler in and told him to face guard Yach. That's exactly what he did. Yach only touched the ball once and he didn't score any points while Tyler guarded him. Job well done! The Bulldogs took home the road victory against the Tornadoes 79-64.

birthday supper and basketball

Tonight we met my high school friend, Sherry, for a birthday month supper at Texas Roadhouse. We had a great time visiting, laughing and eating. Afterwards, we went to East high, where she teaches, to watch the Bulldogs take on the Black Raiders. We lost 69-90.

Warm and cozy home game

Tonight the boys took on the Midgets from Estherville Lincoln Central. They won 79-53.

Super Bowl Party

We had a great time hosting the party for our family and friends. It was my first time  smokin meat and beans. They turned out delicious along with all the other food everyone brought. It was the perfect way to start off birthday month;)

Date night

With Steve in Texas for work and Tyler in Sioux City with friends, I spent the evening  with Emelia so Dan and Victoria could have a date night. I taught Emelia where her ears were and she laughed every time I said "ears."

To watch the boys take on the Braves of Cherokee. The Bulldogs won 82-44. 

My day with Emelia

With mommy working and daddy trying to sleep I got to spend a wonderful afternoon with my neice. We had lunch with Tyler and then a long nap. Then it was off to the library. 

Daddy forgot to pack a hat but we borrowed Tyler's. Go State!

She was so busy at the library! First she colored and did puzzles. 

Then she played at the Lego and train tables. Afterwards, we came home and made supper. What a great day:)

Tuesday night conference ballgame

Tonight the boys took on the Tigers from Spencer. They won 70-37. Tyler got some good playing time in. He had a good rebound and a "3" from the corner. After making the shot he turned around and gave a look and fist pump to his 3rd cousin, Stratton. Radio announcer, Denny, said that Tyler is a good shooter and should get some playing time when they need to score. This was his 6th "3" of the year.

Road loss

It's always tough playing at Hull Western Christian against the Wolfpack and tonight was no exception. Tyler chipped in six points and three rebounds. The Bulldogs lost 72-51.

Zella

Today our hearts are with Rich, Andrea and Everlee as they lay to rest a wonderful companion. May you find comfort knowing you gave Zella a good home and wonderful life. 

Road game

Tonight the boys played in Emmetsburg to take on the E'Hawks. It was so fun to watch Tyler player in the first and second quarter when the team was battling. Tyler had a sweet 3 from the corner and he did a fantastic job getting the ball down low to the big guys. The Bulldogs won 56-40. 

Another night of hoops

Tonight the Indians from Spirit Lake came to town for a Friday night Lakes Conference match up. The Bulldogs won 62-45. 

How did u get asked???

With the help of Tyler's friend, Katie, Tyler asked Rafa, a foreign exchange student from Brazil, to go to prom with him last night. With the question wrote on a sign in her native language, Portuguese, flowers and chocolates she said "yes." Then a group of 40 kids have already had an informal meeting, with lots of girl talk, and boys laughing in the background the prom drama has officially started!

Rejuvenation Day

A group of moms, (we all have seniors in high school) get together once a month. This month we decided to have a "day of pamper." We started the morning with paraffin wrap for our hands, deep conditioning for our hair and scalp, and facial masks. 

We ended the afternoon at the salon getting pedicures. What a great start to the new year (and last semester of high school). I had a fantastic time with some of the most amazing women/moms I know:)

From time to time Tyler forwards me messages that I feel are too good not to share. These are two he sent me today.

Road loss

Tonight we traveled to Sargent Bluff to take on the Warriors. The Bulldogs lost 58-68. 

Friday night hoops

Tonight the Tornadoes from Storm Lake came to town. The Bulldogs won 84-57. Tyler had 3 points on the night. All from the free throw line.  After the game, Yach, came over to talk to Steve, Gramma, Grampa, and myself. When we lived in Storm Lake there were many days and nights Yach would spend with Tyler at our home. I never thought how important we were to him until after the game when he comes walking across the court, smile on his face, and gives gramma and I hugs. Both boys have certainly grown up to be nice young gentlemen:)

This is Tyler's last project to bring home. He made a bowl for his final project but it got broke by another student. I'm so excited to display them other than using them as candy dishes;)

Always a good win

Tonight the boys took a break from conference play to take on #7 ranked Heelan. It had been since December 2006 that the Bulldogs won in the rival. That was long enough. The Bulldogs won tonight, 72-61.

Scheel's Shopping Spree

Tonight Tyler, Jake, and Zach went to the mall to spend their Christmas gift cards. Wondering what $144 from Scheel's looks like..Two thermal shirts and a pair of sweats;)
